NEWS: For Immediate Release For more information, contact: Virginia-Highland Landmark, Murphy's, Turns 25 Restaurant Legacy to be Celebrated October 26, 2005 Atlanta, GA...August 22, 2005.... In a world of ever-changing minds and faster changing fads, it is nice to know that there are some things in this world you can count on, and Murphy's in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood is one of those. This year marks a monumental 25 th year for the Atlanta institution that has maintained its motto "where Virginia-Highland meets", not only for location bearings, Virginia Avenue and North Highland, but for culinary ones, too. Some of the city's most well-known chefs will pay homage to former boss, Tom Murphy, by cooking up their favorites for a special cocktail party at the restaurant on Wednesday, October 26 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Chefs include Michael Tuohy of Woodfire Grill, Alon Balshan of Alon's Bakery and Market, Gerry Klaskala of Aria, Shaun Doty of Table 1280, Hector Santiago of Pura Vida and current executive pastry chef, John Hamstra will prepare culinary treats. Tickets are $55 per person and are available by calling Murphy's at 404-872-0904. Net proceeds will benefit Share Our Strength. Since its founding in 1984, Share Our Strength has raised over $180 million to support more than 1,100 anti-hunger and anti-poverty programs worldwide. Share Our Strength believes that it takes more than food to fight hunger and supports comprehensive efforts to address the immediate and root causes of hunger and poverty. Through benefits and other projects that are as much fun as they are worthy, Share Our Strength inspires people and companies alike to work toward a common goal: stable communities that have enough to eat.
