TECH FIRM GROWS OUT OF CONDO INTO NEW OFFICE, REVENUES SOAR; FOCUSed ON HELPING CLIENTS SCORE HIGH IN GOOGLE SEARCHES
- John Waddy quit a good corporate job with a large PR firm in Atlanta two years ago to launch Travel eMarketing ( www.travelemarketing.com ) from his condo, a digital marketing agency specializing in promoting hotels and resorts online through search engine promotion and Internet marketing;
- John's mission is to help clients get to the top of Google and other search engines through search engine optimization and link building. Many of John's 150 clients have gained a number one ranking in Google under their most important keyword phrases;
- John's company has grown from $200,000 in revenue last year to $500,000 this year;
- He is now launching a new online marketing agency using the same principals, but without focusing on a particular industry. The new company will be called Twenty-Six 2 ( www.twentysix2.com ) , which is the length of a marathon, based on the idea that there are not short cuts to success online, but it requires work, time and effort to rank well online;
- To accommodate the company's growth, John and his six employees just moved out of his condo into a loft office space in the Floataway Building on Zonolite Road.
MISSION: “CONVERT LOOKERS INTO BOOKERS”
- Maximize visibility – The secret to success in web site marketing is link popularity; the more quality, relevant links a web site has to it (incoming links), the higher it will rank in the top search engines and the more traffic it will receive;
- Increase web site traffic – Google drives 60% of all web searches, so the higher a web site ranks in the first page of Google, the more potential customers it will receive;
- Convert lookers into bookers – Although getting potential customers to a site is half the battle, they need a reason to make a purchase online;
- Maximize return on investment – If marketing a site costs more than the return the company is getting, it's not a valuable undertaking.
CLIENTS INCLUDE HILTON, THE PALMS
- Travel eMarketing's client list includes Rosewood Hotels and Resorts ( www.crescenthotel.com ), ResortQuest International ( www.resortquest.com ), Island Getaway ( www.islandgetaway.com ), and The Palms Hotel, South Beach
( www.thepalmshotel.com ) .
- Internap ( www.internap.com ) , the sixth largest ISP in the world, is John's first non-travel client. John identified 100 keywords for Internap based on their product offering, spent three months creating links and re-designing the site for search engine optimization. After just 90 days, Internap achieved a top five ranking in Google for 75 of those 100 keywords, and 30 of those were number one.
