Schroder Public Relations Opens With Legal,
Real Estate and Restaurant Clients

Former newspaperman Chris Schroder announces the opening of his firm, Schroder Public Relations. Clients include Colonial Properties Trust, Hines, King & Spalding, and Wes Vawter of The Vawter Group at Jenny Pruitt & Associates.

Schroder PR provides traditional services such as media relations, communication strategies, graphic design, community relations and speechwriting. Recently, it was hired to produce digital videos for Murphy’s Restaurant and the Chattahoochee Hill Country Alliance, print ads for Right Foot Restaurant Consultants and Commercial Real Estate Agent Warren Bruno, as well as an identity package for Corporate Connections.

The firm was launched earlier this year. Its slogan, “Clear Messages in a Cluttered World,” welcomes visitors to its web site at www.schroderpr.com. Prior to working for PR firms last year, Atlanta native Chris Schroder spent 24 years in the newspaper business, most recently as founding publisher and owner of the Atlanta Intown and Atlanta Buckhead newspapers, which he started out of his Morningside home in 1994 under the original titles of Atlanta 30306 and Atlanta 30305. Previously, he served in advertising, marketing and editorial management positions at six Southeastern newspapers, including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Fulton County Daily Report and the Charlotte Observer.

Other associates of the firm include writers, designers and consultants Schroder worked with in his publications career, including Jan Butsch, Larry Matré, Heidi Rizzi, Julie McDowell, Wendy Guarisco, Tom Bell and Jesse Pompei.

Schroder was hired by Colonial Properties Trust to enhance its communication after explosive growth in its office division. Hines retained the firm to assist in its announcement of the new office tower adjacent to the new Symphony Hall at 14th and Peachtree streets. Schroder is working with the King & Spalding law firm in its ongoing development of diversity and community-relations strategies. Vawter, recently named by the Atlanta Board of Realtors as Atlanta’s #1 Realtor in net sales for 2002, has retained Schroder to assist in media relations and marketing strategy.

In addition to the PR firm, Schroder has started Gift of a Lifetime, a service that honors individuals with framed words of praise and photographs gathered from family, friends and associates. The awards are presented as a surprise on special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries and retirement and are memorialized on its web site at www.giftofalifetime.net.
