Atlanta and Chicago Events Management Firms Form Partnership to Reach Latino Market
“Celebrando Contigo” will be a 20-city Latino Tour of America
ATLANTA, GA – Mobile Media Enterprises LLC (MME) and its division, Mobile Media Latino, announced today a joint venture with Chicago Special Events Management (CSEM) to create a touring Hispanic festival. The joint venture will operate under the name Latino Tour America, and has established a Hispanic festival property named “Celebrando Contigo” (Celebrating With You) that will tour the top 20 U.S. Hispanic markets beginning in April 2005. Events and activities will be city-specific, but will include national retail and sponsor activation events, VIP and Media parties, film festivals, ethnic foods and first class musical acts.
“It's a first of its kind,” said Ken McCord, Chief Financial Officer of MME. “Celebrando Contigo will simultaneously offer cultural entertainment for the Hispanic community and a chance for sponsor brands to offer a personal touch to their target consumers.” Celebrando Contigo will be designed to meet the needs of sponsors as well as the entertainment and educational needs of the Hispanic community through event-marketing programs and branded villages. At certain levels of sponsorship, companies will be able to attain exclusivity for their brands, a very unique business aspect of the tour.
“The time is right to bring these celebrations and festivals to the rapidly growing Hispanic population,” said MME Founder and President Bob Lewis. “The tour should be both profitable for sponsors and enriching for every community it reaches.”
Lewis said this joint venture between MME and CSEM will ensure its success. “After a thorough review of our options for growth, not one came even close to the possibilities for success that a partnership with CSEM involving the Hispanic community offered,” Lewis said.
Both companies are highly successful, nationally recognized, headquartered in cities with very high Hispanic populations, and have a combined 28 years of experience in street festival productions and brand activations. Both companies have garnered an impressive list of achievements and have the knowledge and expertise to draw hundreds of thousands of consumers at every stop.
Current industry and market conditions greatly influenced the decision to move forward with this partnership. Hispanics are the largest and fastest growing community of minorities in America and represent over $600 billion in annual buying power. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Hispanics make up nearly 14% of America's 291 million people, with the population of Hispanics rising in every state in the 1990s.
During the first quarter of 2004, from January to March, advertisers spent $458.4 million on Spanish-language television, according to Nielsen Monitor Plus. This year, Spanish-language television revenue is forecast by TNS Media Intelligence/CMR to grow by 15.7%, far outpacing English-language television, predicted by CMR to grow by only 9.6 percent. Additionally, the portion of the event marketing industry targeted towards Hispanic audiences is considered one of the fastest growing disciplines in the country.
