CRESA PARTNERS SECURES NEW LEASE FOR ATLANTA BAR ASSOCIATION AT PEACHTREE CENTER
ATLANTA, May 8, 2007 - CresaPartners of GA LLC, an international corporate real estate advisory firm, announces the completion of a new lease for the Atlanta Bar Association, at the organization's current location of 229 Peachtree Center, Suite 400. Hansell Roddenbery, associate director and Jim Byrd, principal, with CresaPartners in Atlanta, represented the Atlanta Bar Association in its leasing of the 6,862 sf facility that serves as the home of the law organization representing more than 6,300 lawyers in the 12-county area of metropolitan Atlanta.
"The Atlanta Bar Association conducted an extensive evaluation of options, which included the possibility of purchasing a building or moving to Midtown," said Roddenbery. "After completion of a detailed financial analysis, the Board of the Atlanta Bar Association decided to renovate the existing space to meet the needs of the Association for many years to come."
In addition to negotiating the lease renewal, CresaPartners also provided oversight of the office renovation through its project management services, supervised by Mike Loy, Project Manager.
"Staying in this location, which is a focal point of activity in Atlanta, ensures that we are accessible to the thousands of lawyers that are in the association, " said Richard Herzog, president of the Atlanta Bar Association. "The effort Cresa provided in helping us through this was exemplary and the leadership they displayed in the transaction and project management ensured an easy negotiating process."
Mike Werner and Jeff Keppen with CBRE represented the landlord, ACP Peachtree Center, LLC.
The transaction was completed in early April and the lease will last 10 years. The lease was established to create a direct lease with the landlord, once the sublease expired.
"It was imperative for us to get through this process quickly to lock up the deal directly with ACP Peachtree Center, so we can continue our relationship with them for decades to come," said Herzog.
The Atlanta Bar Association is the largest voluntary bar association in the southeast with a membership of more than 6,300 from the 12 counties of metro Atlanta: (Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale). The members of the Atlanta Bar Association are a part of a vibrant, robust organization. They have earned a national reputation for successful and innovative programs and continue to break ground in new areas. They advocate for the legal profession and help create a professional and collegial environment as well as tools to assist with the day-to-date operation of the members' legal practice.
"We're excited that this transaction was completed quickly and commend Cresa for all the hard work they supplied," said Diane O'Steen, Executive Director for the Atlanta Bar Association.
