From a college business proposal to the award-winning restaurant it is today, the book recounts how Tom Murphy, an Atlanta native and founder of Murphy's, growing up in the Garden Hills neighborhood, got his start in the food industry by selling hot dogs at the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center. It traces the business he envisioned in college and opened at the age of 21 and how it has grown into one of Atlanta's most consistent and best restaurants. In 2005, Murphy's received the distinguished DiRoNA award as one of North America's finest restaurants as well as being honored with the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for its retail wine shop.
