N MOTION OFFERS $1000 PRIZE
TO BEAT WORLD RECORD HOLDER
IN PUSH-UP CONTEST AT SANDY SPRINGS FESTIVAL
Contenders Must Top 166 Push-Ups in One Minute to Win
ATLANTA (September 13, 2005) – Think you can do more than 166 push-ups in one minute? That's the pending World Record, and you can win $1000 if you beat that number at the N Motion Push-Up Contest this weekend at the Sandy Springs Festival.
The World Record was set in May 2005 by Lloyd Ward, CEO of Body Blocks Inc., an Atlanta-based company specializing in healthy and delicious N Motion Snacks and Energy Drinks. N Motion is offering $1000 to the person with the highest number of push-ups over that record.
Ward will be defending his push-up title against some tough contenders at the Sandy Springs Festival on September 17-18, 2005 in Sandy Springs. Firemen from Fulton County Fire Station Number 2 in Sandy Springs are hot to take on the 57-year-old pending World-Record holder. “We're certainly up for the challenge,” said Captain Mark Akins of the Fulton County Fire Department.
Ward says he's ready for them. “Firemen have a reputation for being among the strongest people around,” he said. “It's an honor for me to have them go after the record.”
The Push-Up Contest is free, but proceeds and donations from the Push-Up Contest will benefit the Atlanta office of the American Red Cross in its relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina. N Motion is committed to making a donation based on the number of contenders and the highest combined total of push-ups.
Captain Akins of the Fulton County Fire Department is enthusiastic. “We're excited to be a part of this event, particularly as it benefits such a worthy cause.”
Challengers are invited to visit the N Motion Tent in the Health Expo anytime on Saturday. N Motion will be holding push-up contests throughout the day, and the leaders will be invited to compete in the finals on Sunday afternoon from 1-1:30 p.m. on the Cornerstone Bank Stage, adjacent to CityWalk.
