Formerly the editor of Atlanta Intown newspapers, Jan is an award-winning writer. She was also a newspaper columnist for many years for those newspapers as well as The Story and The Reporter newspapers.
In addition to her work at Schroder Public Relations, Jan is also managing editor and web editor of Travelgirl magazine. Her articles have appeared in publications nationally. She blogs at Girl on the Go and is a featured blogger on the Atlanta Convention and Visitor’s Bureau website.
Her Schroder PR work includes writing and producing articles, magazines, enewsletters and profiles for AGL Resources, King & Spalding, The Coca-Cola Company, Rock-Tenn, Consumer Credit Counseling Service and Colonial Properties Trust.
She is the author of three books, Just a Stage, Murphy's: 25 Years of Recipes and Memories, and Raising the Bar: Legendary Rainmakers Share Their Business Development Secrets, which she ghostwrote for a client of Schroder Public Relations. As head of Schroder Publishing, she also published Souper Jenny Cooks and No Such Thing as a Pretty Good Alligator Wrestler.
Jan worked as a paralegal, membership manager of the High Museum of Art and stay-at-home mom prior to beginning her journalism career.
Jan is a native of Atlanta and graduated cum laude from the University of Virginia. Her community service works includes being a member of the Citizen’s Review Panel of the Fulton County Juvenile Court and the Atlanta Junior League.
