More than 700 Atlanta Financial Center employees stopped by the North Tower Lobby June 18 for a special Tenant Appreciation Event featuring breakfast, live music, door prizes and the unveiling of Hines' new marketing center.

Welcome to the third issue of Around AFC. This month we profile the UGA Alumni Center and Sonja Jackson, a member of our Hines security team.

We thoroughly enjoyed last month's Tenant Appreciation Event and we hope that those of you who stopped by did as well. Although we are spread out between the North, East and South towers, we are a growing and vibrant community. Your happiness at Atlanta Financial Center is our number one priority. Sonja Jackson

Sonja Jackson always seems to be smiling.

Whether she is sick in bed, or at Atlanta Financial Center in the security control room, her enthusiasm for life is contagious.

"Everyone always tells me I smile a lot. But smiling warms people’s hearts," she said. "I just feel like the people I see throughout the day, I never really know what they are going through. I smile because you never know how it will affect someone, or turn their day into a better day." ...

UGA Alumni Center

UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA ALUMNI CENTER
CREATES ITS OWN LITTLE ATHENS

Things get really interesting in the South Tower when it's football season. While tenants from Atlanta Financial Center have attended a variety of schools around the nation, the 10,000-square-foot University of Georgia Alumni Center is home to only bulldogs.

"When we are winning, we don't really hear anything from other tenants," Membership Coordinator Realenn Watters said of the playful banter. "But it does get funny when people rent meeting space from us. We get a lot of Auburn, Florida and Tech graduates that come in and sort of look nervous." ...

Local Events


July 4th Celebrations

On Friday July 4, Atlanta Financial Center will be closed for Independence Day. Access into the building and parking garage must be made via card access.

Building services, including HVAC, can be provided on this day by prior written request to Hines by July 3 at noon.

Tenants, visitors and Buckhead Club guests will watch the fireworks display from the drive lanes and parking decks. Due to a private event hosted by the Buckhead Club no parking will be allowed on Levels G, H and J ...
